It's all looking bloomin' marvellous at our Step Outside allotment
We were jolly busy bees at the allotment this week. We got to work harvesting, planting and singing in the sunshine. We were delighted to have a visit from a little robin (we like to think it’s Rob looking over us and making sure the beds are all in order). Our amazing volunteers tidied the shed and also helped Anni with the planting.
Alan planted up the new herb garden… it was his idea that we make one, so we did… with homegrown parsley sage rosemary and thyme little bit of dill, some coriander and also marjoram. We can’t wait to reap the rewards of his hard work.
We also planted sunflowers. Diane, Brenda and Brian planted fennel, kale and broccoli and there was lots of hose activity as you can see Anni got a little wet!! Everyone did their bit. Terry pumped up tyres and took tools home to sharpen and Tim and Brenda cleared out the tool cupboard while Sue edged and tied up the beans… it was a joy to see so much productive activity.
Valerie enjoyed reading the book Sarah bought her, while Kate and Fiona sowed flowers and did lots of harvesting and inspecting ha ha! All in all, it was a jolly good garden day.
