In Jolly Good Company Jolly Day getting crafty

Our Jolly Days

On a Jolly Day you can be as active or relaxed as you like. Various activities take place at our different venues. In Wimborne St Giles we meet for longer and start with a delicious homemade lunch cooked by The Friendly Food Club, this is then followed by a varied programme which can include live music, singing, quizzes, seated exercise, walks, painting and crafts. Once we get to know you, we can tailor your day to suit you. We always stop for tea and homemade cake at all our Jolly Days. At Blandford, Wimborne and Shaftesbury, we have less time together, but we have just as much fun with regular visits from musicians, writers and local craftspeople.

CHARGES
We rely on the donations from our guests who attend our groups. Whilst there is no set charge we encourage people to give as much as they can afford.

Current fundraising

The amazing Julie Foulkes is doing The National Three Peaks Challenge on June 21st.

The National Three Peaks Challenge is an event in which participants attempt to climb the highest mountains of England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours. It is frequently used to raise money for charitable organisations. Walkers climb each peak in turn, and are driven from the foot of one mountain to the next.

Julie, who will be 63 when she does this challenge, is very kindly raising much-needed money for In Jolly Good Company and you can sponsor her below.

Thank you, Graham

We are hugely grateful to Graham who celebrated his 60th birthday by cycling 125 laps of the village and completing a total of 100 miles to raise money for In Jolly Good Company and the Salisbury Samaritans. we received £1,030 in total with gift aid, which is incredible.

Thank you to each and everyone of you who donated and supported both us and Graham, it is very much appreciated. This donation enables us to continue with our hugely successful ‘Jolly Postal Service’ which is a free service.

Thank you Maddie

Maddie Rock walked the South West Coast path from Minehead to Poole and recorded her journey by painting along the way. She’s an incredible artist. The 630-mile adventure took her a total of 71 days to complete.

During her walk many people asked her if she was raising money for charity and expressed a wish to make a donation. Having given this much thought she very kindly decided to raise funds for us. We were over the moon and very grateful. Thank you, Maddie, you really do ‘Rock’.

Thank you Julie

On the 22nd June, the amazing Julie Foulkes (58 years young) took part in the Race to the Kings, a 52 mile Cross Country run across the South Downs starting at Slindon near Arundel and finishing some 14 to 16 hours later that day at Winchester Cathedral.

Julie says: “I would just like to say thank you to everyone who sponsored me for the Race to the Kings 53 mile run. I don’t know the exact amount raised but believe it to be over £600. All the money raised will go directly to In Jolly Good Company a brilliant project. Sarah is doing a wonderful job.”
