Fundraising
We get by with a little help from our friends…
We really rely on the donations from our guests who attend our groups. Whilst there is no set charge we encourage people to give as much as they can afford. We are a registered charity and we constantly need to raise funds to subsidise our Jolly Days. It currently costs us £50 per guest for a Jolly Day and £70 per head when lunch is supplied.
Thank you very much for all your donations. It’s so important to us as without them we couldn’t make this happen. It’s true what they say… every little really does help. It’s easy to donate, simply click on the button below and it’ll take you directly to our Localgiving page.

Luke Ballard
Luke, a keen local long-distance runner, is very kindly raising money for the Jollies by taking on two of his toughest challenges to date. Luke, reached out to us because we are a very local dementia friendly charity, and with his family experience of dementia, he can see the value of what our Jolly Days offer people. He is bravely raising money for us by taking on two of his toughest challenges to date.
Luke completed his first challenge in May when he headed to Snowdon for the UTMB mountain trail series, taking part in the Ultralight Trail Snowdonia, a challenging 56k race across Snowdonia's rugged terrain. He finished it in an incredible 11 hours, 30 minutes and 7 seconds and raised a whopping £2,370 for In Jolly Good Company!
The second challenge will be a 100km solo run across Dorset from Lyme Regis to Melbury Abbas. Luke will be crossing the ten tallest hills of Dorset. This will be the furthest he has ever run in one day, and to do it solo will be incredibly difficult, as it’s often the camaraderie with other runners that keeps him going. We have no doubt he’ll succeed as he’s so determined, driven and passionate about trail running. Go Luke!

Thank you Julie
Julie Foulkes completed the National Three Peaks Challenge on June 21st 2024 at the grand old age of 63. The ‘Peaky Climbers’ as her team called themselves, completed the challenge in 24 hrs 36 minutes and arrived home at just before 8 pm exhausted after very little sleep from Thursday night and feeling very stiff but very proud.
Well done Julie, we are so proud of you and a massive thank you for rasing funds for us, it’s very much appreciated.
Thank you, Graham
We are hugely grateful to Graham who celebrated his 60th birthday by cycling 125 laps of the village and completing a total of 100 miles to raise money for In Jolly Good Company and the Salisbury Samaritans. we received £1,030 in total with gift aid, which is incredible.
Thank you to each and everyone of you who donated and supported both us and Graham, it is very much appreciated. This donation enables us to continue with our hugely successful ‘Jolly Postal Service’ which is a free service.
Thank you Maddie
Maddie Rock walked the South West Coast path from Minehead to Poole and recorded her journey by painting along the way. She’s an incredible artist. The 630-mile adventure took her a total of 71 days to complete.
During her walk many people asked her if she was raising money for charity and expressed a wish to make a donation. Having given this much thought she very kindly decided to raise funds for us. We were over the moon and very grateful. Thank you, Maddie, you really do ‘Rock’.
We are also very grateful for the support of the following organisations:
The Digby Trust, Churchill Retirement Living, Dorset Community Foundation, Coral Samuel Charitable Trust, Knowlton Parish Community Benefit Fund, Blandford Town Council and Shaftesbury Town Council, Holman Automotive.
Fancy volunteering?
Become a ‘Jolly Volly’
We couldn’t do any of what we do or support the numbers of people we do without the help of our amazing volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, we currently need people to help at Jolly St Giles, West Moors and our Step Outside allotments at Kingston Lacy. We are also seeking volunteers who would like to enable our guests to take part in the activities on offer and we are busy building a Jolly Fundraising Team. Whatever your talents, you will be much appreciated, well supported and part of a friendly team.
