Fundraising

We get by with a little help from our friends…

We really rely on the donations from our guests who attend our groups. Whilst there is no set charge we encourage people to give as much as they can afford. We are a registered charity and we constantly need to raise funds to subsidise our Jolly Days. It currently costs us £50 per guest for a Jolly Day and £70 per head when lunch is supplied.

Thank you very much for all your donations. It’s so important to us as without them we couldn’t make this happen. It’s true what they say… every little really does help. It’s easy to donate, simply click on the button below and it’ll take you directly to our Localgiving page.

Current fundraising

Luke Ballard, a keen local long-distance runner, is very kindly raising money for us by taking on two of his toughest challenges to date.

The first is in May when Luke will be heading to Snowdon for the UTMB mountain trail series, taking part in the Ultralight Trail Snowdonia, a challenging 56k race across Snowdonia's rugged terrain. Last year this challenging race nearly finished him off it was so tough, but he says he’s feeling very positive this year.

The second challenge will be a 100km solo run across Dorset from Lyme Regis to Melbury Abbas, crossing the ten tallest hills of Dorset. This will be the farthest Luke has ever run in one day!

You can sponsor Luke and help keep our Jolly Days on the road by clicking the link below. Thank you so much Luke.

Fundraisers who’ve helped us in the past…

Thank you Julie

Julie Foulkes completed the National Three Peaks Challenge on June 21st 2024 at the grand old age of 63. The ‘Peaky Climbers’ as her team called themselves, completed the challenge in 24 hrs 36 minutes and arrived home at just before 8 pm exhausted after very little sleep from Thursday night and feeling very stiff but very proud.

Well done Julie, we are so proud of you and a massive thank you for rasing funds for us, it’s very much appreciated.

Maddie-Rock-South-West-Coast-Path-Walk-Charity-Fundraiser-In Jolly-Good-Company

Thank you Maddie

Maddie Rock walked the South West Coast path from Minehead to Poole and recorded her journey by painting along the way. She’s an incredible artist. The 630-mile adventure took her a total of 71 days to complete.

During her walk many people asked her if she was raising money for charity and expressed a wish to make a donation. Having given this much thought she very kindly decided to raise funds for us. We were over the moon and very grateful. Thank you, Maddie, you really do ‘Rock’.

We are also very grateful for the support of the following organisations:

The Digby Trust, Churchill Retirement Living, Dorset Community Foundation, Coral Samuel Charitable Trust, Knowlton Parish Community Benefit Fund, Blandford Town Council and Shaftesbury Town Council, Holman Automotive.

Fancy volunteering?

Become a ‘Jolly Volly’

We couldn’t do any of what we do or support the numbers of people we do without the help of our amazing volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, we currently need people to help at Jolly St Giles, West Moors and our Step Outside allotments at Kingston Lacy. We are also seeking volunteers who would like to enable our guests to take part in the activities on offer and we are busy building a Jolly Fundraising Team. Whatever your talents, you will be much appreciated, well supported and part of a friendly team.
