Thank you to our amazing volunteers
What a wonderful time we had with all our fabulous volunteers celebrating and thanking them. The day was organised by Kate Sheridan and 25 of our volunteers attended.
We started the day with an informative morning of Safeguarding Awareness with Vicky Hall from the Dorset Volunteer Centre. The Friendly Food Club provided us with a delicious homemade vegetable soup followed by yummy sticky toffee pudding with ice cream.
After lunch, we all enjoyed Kate's quiz, including the famous music round! We finished our day together with a creative craft session making seasonal wreaths with Anni using materials she had gathered from Long Crichel. This included dogwoods, willow, yew, ivy, holly, rosehip, bay, rosemary, fir cones and old man’s beard. Pretty ribbons were donated by Anne Bartlett from her collection. As well as a Wimborne St Giles’ carer Anne is a Chelsea Flower Show medal winner.
We also had a lovely time with Kate making beautiful ‘woven’ paper Danish hearts.
It was a fun, full and rewarding day and a special way of thanking our fabulous volunteers.
