Seasons of Winter in Shaftesbury

Our Jolly Shaftesbury guests thoroughly enjoyed the latest edition of Seasons of Stories 'Winter'. From Stepping Into Nature. It’s a limited-edition book to help people enjoy the beauty of nature through the colder winter months. The book travels through Winter taking delight in the seasonal changes taking place in nature and our relationship with those wintery days. Those changes are told through captivating short stories, riddles, recipes, poetry, and illustrations along with thoughts from the wider community.

Stepping into Nature say the book can be enjoyed by everyone and is particularly great for people who have limited opportunities to connect to nature and others, for example, people who are living with long-term health conditions, in a caring role, experiencing loneliness, low mental health or low confidence. The Seasons of Stories series has had outstanding feedback, with people saying the books have enabled them to have meaningful conversations with loved ones, brought back fond memories and invited positivity back into their lives.

A big thank you to them for providing these beautiful and stimulating books for free to all of our guests! We were totally enthralled and there were wonderful moments such as when Anne remarked she couldn't believe that the rabbits didn't look more concerned about the fox!

The Stepping into Nature project is led by the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty team funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. For more about Stepping into Nature go to www.stepin2nature.org
