What a Jolly Day
A Jolly Good time was had by all on our second day together in Wimborne St Giles. Using the Village Hall as our base, we wandered out for a lovely sunny visit to one of our neighbour’s beautiful gardens. She and her dog Toby made us very welcome and there was much tail wagging and interesting chat about the history of the house.
Coming back to the hall, we could smell the delicious oven baked potatoes that were awaiting us for lunch. The afternoon was extremely relaxing. Our resident pianist Kate, played some meditative classical pieces, whilst we all tried our hand at painting on a ‘Beside the Seaside’ theme - kindly set up and led by the very talented Julie Foulkes. Then it was time for tea and mouth watering home made cake, a try out of some new puzzles and a game of quoits in the garden.
One participant’s daughter had this to say:
“Mum said how well cared for she was and she was thrilled to see the dog when you were outside and also to have her painting put up on the wall! I never thought we would get her to come to a group like this. It has given me a day when I am able to relax, knowing that she is in good care.”
