I love the Step Outside Allotment Harvest Festival party

It’s our yearly chance to gather together with friends and relatives in the cosy polytunnel and celebrate with a drink and some delicious homemade cakes.

This year we were lucky enough to have a visit from Kelly Webb, the Mayor of Wimborne and Councillor Bob Murrow of New Milton. Our lovely volunteer Rob, gave them and others a tour of our plots. Bob has been so impressed by our efforts, that he and his team have set up a dementia friendly allotment project in New Milton. We are proud to be the inspiration for this!

Of course, none of this could have been achieved without the support and hard work of Wimborne Dementia Friendly Community who inspired the project in the first place and continue to raise the much needed funds to keep us going. We were very lucky to be presented with a generous cheque from Waitrose at the party… those green tokens really do add up!

As the autumn progresses and the days are getting shorter. The team at Step Outside have decided that they would like to keep meeting at the allotments over the winter, we have plenty to do and if it gets too chilly, we’ll retreat to a cafe and warm our hands around a lovely cup of tea or hot chocolate!

See you up at the allotments - Sarah x

ps: I would like to say a big thank you to Holmans who very generously lent us a large screen for our slideshow showcasing all the amazing pictures Brent Jones took for this website.

I’m a web designer and I love creating beautiful, affordable websites that work hard for small businesses. Simply put, a business needs a website to reach more customers. It needs to look good but it also needs to work hard. That’s where I can help, I build cost-effective, good looking websites that are both mobile and google friendly.
