Meet Eileen, who has been one of our Jolly Volunteers since April last year.Eileen (pictured on the left here with another of our lovely volunteers, Pat) is an amazing volunteer who has lived near Wimborne St Giles for a long time and so knows may of our guests. Her smile and friendliness put people at ease. She has an instinct for knowing exactly what needs to be done at a Jolly Day and gets on and does it. She is a vital member of our team, and we love working with her.Eileen grew up in Devon before moving to Dorset and her favourite subject at school was cookery. She has enjoyed a very varied working life and her jobs have included working in a Bakery Shop, Egg Packing, Cleaning, waitressing at The Drovers and The Bull Inn in Wimborne St Giles, kitchen assistant at La Fosse and Cranborne Garden Centre as well as the Watercress Beds. Our guests love chatting with Eileen at our Wimborne St Giles’ Jolly Days. She also helps serve up the delicious lunches and helps to tidy away afterwards. Eileen’s favourite thing about volunteering is meeting new people. She says “It’s a pleasure to be in their company and I enjoy helping those less fortunate than myself. I look forward to the Jolly Days and volunteering”.We couldn’t do any of what we do or support the numbers of people we do without the help of our amazing volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, we currently need people to help at Jolly St Giles, West Moors and our Step Outside allotments at Kingston Lacy. We are also seeking volunteers who would like to enable our guests to take part in the activities on offer. We would also like to build a Jolly Fundraising Team. Whatever your talents, you will be much appreciated, well supported and part of a friendly team.
